Ancillary Issues.
During one of my mediation session in a divorce, the husband felt that he was not able to pay his wife the consolatory gift because he has prior commitments of child support. This created a tension between them as that is the rights of a wife. It is also one of the obligations of the husband.
To get it moving, I had to talk with the husband and make him understand that what he is denying is his wife’s right and make him see that how he would feel when someone takes away his rights. The other thing that I did was to jog his mind whether his prior commitment would relieve him of his current duties and obligation? He began to see the rationale and the discussion continued smoothly and they jointly came to an agreement.
Sure
Sure, whilst I cannot share details. What I can share was all parties involved worked on the maths. They began to take ownership of how it would work for them. Every case is unique.
Indu, care to share d terms of this agreement. Keen to learn from you😊
