Mediation Face to Face vs Other Forms of Mediation

In today's world, there are several ways in which we conduct Mediation. Traditionally mediation has been on face to face but in recent times we have adopted to do mediation via video conferencing.

The question is which is the best way, quite a lot of people would say that face to face is the best. This may be true in the context of being able to read the body language and better way of building rapport with the parties.

However, things are changing, mediation via video conference is picking up. The disputants saves time via video conference.

In my course of meditation work I use several platforms of mediation namely face to face, video conferencing and chat based meditation. Each has its pros and cons.

I have worked with the Small Claims Tribunal @ State Court on a chat-based mediation ( e-Mediation). I find it great It's generally longer as you need to type. Having said this it also gives time for parties to think and type out their responses.

If one would ask me which is the best I would say the best platform is one which makes the client comfortable
