I wanted to share my 3rd case, which I did yesterday.
The case is varying the consent order. I read the application and went through the affidavit and was a little confused as what the application stated and the affidavit did not match. Nevertheless, it was about marital property.
Both parties appeared, and I managed to confirm the facts and let them discuss. I could sense that while they have been divorced for about 2 years, there is still bitterness. After a while, I shared with them about resolving..not to think that the house is a matrimonial house but an investment that they both did and how to come off it with the options.
We generated options where one party takes over the house, told them to go and pen down all the cost, what would be their new loan amount and see if they can finance it and finance them... HDB or Bank, to consider a refund of CPF money or part share.
The other is selling it in the open market and see how much gain or loss they will be at.
Highlighted to them to consider what will happen if they Lose their jobs.

The case is put forward to further mediation. Parties are going to do their homework and come back. Hopefully, they now can make an informed decision.
